I love the rain :)

It's raining!! We're enjoying it so much! My grandma saw a report that our area got 1 in. of rain early summer and 1/2 of an in. later in the summer. It's so dry, the grass is crunchy in the places the sun hits the most. We are on water restriction which allows us to water once a week before 7 am and after 7pm. This rain is much needed!

Home school is going well. Still working on juggling the boys while teaching the girls :) They are smart and learn quickly so that helps. T's getting better with math, it's not her strong subject though.

My mom and grandma were here last week, which was very nice. We went on two field trips with the kids. Our first adventure was to the Alamo in San Antonio, then the river walk for lunch and next the tour boat on the river. It was fun but as the afternoon hit the temperature rose to over 100. The kids had a great nap on the way home!
Our second adventure the following day was to the state capitol. First hiccup - my keys were in the car and it was locked. Bobby's boss let him drive all the way home and unlock the car. :) After that was resolved we ate lunch at Chick-fil-a (the kids all wanted hamburgers?). We arrived at the capitol. Parking was easy. We pushed the Johnson Limo, aka stroller, up to the capitol building. Once we found the front door my mom and I had fun lifting the stroller up many stairs. We walked around and around trying to find the information desk. It was in the old bank inside the building - signs would be nice. When searching online beforehand they said tours were available for free and they had a K-2nd grade one. Perfect right? Wrong. Those tours are only for schools. We still walked around and rode the elevator to the fourth floor and looked down at the neat pictures on the floor. They liked seeing where great-grandpa Sam worked before moving on as a US Representative.

Well it's lunch time :D
