I should write a post about painting but have very limited time right now. In short, Bobby signed me up for a painting class at The University of Texas. I've not taken an art class since ELEMENTARY school.. In class last week I brought in a photograph that I took of a friends child and used that as a template for the painting. Here's the final product. It's only 5x7.

I learned that oil paintings take a VERY long time to dry and I smudged the paint several times....

November 14th would have been my Great-Grandmother's 97th birthday.

She was such a special women who taught all the family so much. 

My goal in my painting class is to paint this picture of her.

She is my painting inspiration.

SLOWLY painting all the trim and doors in the house from "dirty yellow" to bright white!! I can't wait to be done!!

We bought our house 2 1/2 years ago and soon after that got paint for all the rooms.  The girls got some chalkboard paint and we just never got around to paint with it. One day while I was painting trim, T asked if they could paint with their chalkboard paint so  I FINALLY let them. :)

4.28.2012 - A busy day this Saturday has been.  I haven't painted in awhile and finally got around to painting our swing and staining the rest of the fence behind it.  Now we just need to plant some flowers! :)  Bobby did plant an orange tree but the wind was out of control and I couldn't get a good picture of it.

3.29.2012 - Dom was eating lunch on the bench I've been trying to finish painting.

Since our kitchen isn't green anymore we brought the green outside and I'm loving it!!

Our long driveway is perfect for the kids now and the cul-de-sac will be perfect when they are a little older. And the sunset here is always perfect :)
